Job Safety Analysis <br /> Drilling Caught In/Between Moving Parts • Identify and understand parts of equipment which may <br /> cause crushing,pinching,rotating or similar injuries <br /> • Assure guards are in place to protect from these parts <br /> of equipment during operation <br /> • Provide and wear proper work gloves when the <br /> possibility of crush,pinch,or other injury may be <br /> caused by moving/stationary edges or objects <br /> • Maintain all equipment in a safe condition <br /> • Keep all guards in place during use <br /> • De-energize and lock-out machinery before <br /> maintenance or service <br /> Drilling Fire/Explosion • Test well-head atmosphere with multi-gas meter <br /> • Eliminate sources of ignition from the work area <br /> • Prohibit smoking <br /> • Provide ABC(or equivalent)fire extinguishers in all <br /> work areas,flammable storage areas,generator and <br /> compressor locations <br /> • Store flammable liquids in well ventilated areas <br /> • Prohibit storage,transfer of flammable liquids in <br /> plastic containers <br /> • Post"NO SMOKING"signs <br /> • Store combustible materials away from flammables <br /> Drilling Slips, Trips, Falls • Clear walkways,work areas of equipment,drilling <br /> overburden,debris and other materials <br /> • Mark,identify,or barricade other obstructions <br /> • Maintain 3 point contact when mounting/dismounting <br /> heavy equipment <br /> Drilling Inhalation and Contact with Hazardous Substances . Provide workers proper skin,eye and respiratory <br /> protection based on the exposure hazards present <br /> • Review hazardous properties of site contaminants with <br /> workers before operations begin <br /> • Monitor breathing zone air to determine levels of <br /> contaminants <br />
