Job Safety Analysis <br /> -M <br /> Drilling Rig Cable Replacement Improper Work Procedures • Driller and helper must be present during all active <br /> operations and TEST KILL SWITCH DURING EACH <br /> STARTUP <br /> • Driller helper and other site personnel must know <br /> location of emergency shutoff switch <br /> • Ensure jewellery is removed,loose clothing is buttoned <br /> and loose PPE is secured close to the body to <br /> avoid getting caught in moving parts. <br /> • Unauthorized personnel must be kept clear of drilling <br /> rig. <br /> • Area of drilling operation must be cordoned <br /> off/barricaded <br /> • When hazardous conditions(including weather)are <br /> deemed present,operation must be shut down. <br /> • Set rig on stable,level ground <br /> • Use adequate blocking materials <br /> • Do not allow drillers to climb onto mast while it is <br /> erected <br /> • Pipe,and similar drilling tools should be orderly <br /> stacked on racks or sills to prevent spreading,rolling or <br /> sliding <br /> • Work areas,platforms,and walkways should be kept <br /> free of materials,debris,and obstructions such as ice, <br /> grease or oil that could cause a surface to become slick <br /> or otherwise hazardous. <br /> • Shut down drill rig to make repairs or adjustments to <br /> drill rig or to lubricate fittings.
