Job Safety Analysis <br /> Vehicle Operations Skids • If the vehicle has begun to skid out of control, turn <br /> the steering wheel in the direction of the skid and <br /> re-adjust the wheel, as necessary. <br /> • Reduce speed during hazardous travel conditions. <br /> • Use 4-wheel drive, if available, when driving <br /> vehicles off road, on steep inclines, muddy <br /> conditions,etc. <br /> Do not take vehicles"off road" if they can <br /> not be operated safely. <br /> Vehicle Operations Blind Spots • Become familiar with any blind spots associated <br /> with your vehicle. <br /> • Adjust mirrors to give maximum viewing area. <br /> • Use your directional devices to signal all turns and <br /> when changing lanes; check rear/side view mirror <br /> and glance over shoulder to assure the lane is <br /> clear. <br /> Avoid other driver's blind spots; slow down and <br /> let other vehicle pass. <br /> Vehicle Operations Distractions e.g. Cellular Phones, Reading • Use speaker phone, not handheld cellular phones <br /> Maps/Directions, Eating, etc. while driving <br /> Pull over to the side of the road when making <br /> a call or checking directions. <br /> Vehicle Operations Accidents • In the event of an accident: Stop; call for medical <br /> assistance; notify police; complete Vehicle <br /> Accident Report and submit to you supervisor. <br /> • Notify Health and Safety <br /> If an CB&I employee is injured, the Health <br /> Resource forms, Return to Work, Medical <br /> Release and Treatment of Injury/Illness, must <br /> completed at the health clinic or Emergency Room. <br />
