The Self-Haul Waste Stream:
Self-haul waste is waste that is brought to disposal sites by
generators of the waste. Throughout this report, self-haul waste
is everything brought to disposal sites by other than a
municipality or a licensed/franchised collector.
R. Waste Collection in the County Unincorporated Area:
For purposes of residential waste collection in the unincorporated
area, the County is divided into six geographical areas (see Figure
1) . Private refuse collection companies are franchised for
residential waste collection in each of those areas. The
franchises are issued for 7-year periods. Extensions can be
granted by the County Board of Supervisors. Current franchise
agreements terminate on December 31, 1993 .
In addition to residential waste, the franchised companies can
collect commercial and industrial wastes anywhere in the County.
Refuse Service Areas and Franchised Collectors
Refuse Area A Independent Disposal
9655 Elk Grove-Florin Rd. #5
Elk Grove, CA 95624
David Vaccarezza-President
(209) 369-8274
Refuse Area B Sanco Disposal Service
1333 E.
