Lane, between Tully and Jack Tone Roads, about ten miles east of
the City of Lodi. It is about one and a half miles east of San
Joaquin County's Harney Lane SL, which is currently in closure and
post-closure stages.
The North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill (NCRCSL)
accepts waste between the hours of 7: 00 a.m. and 5: 00 p.m. daily
from the public as well as the franchised and licensed collectors
for the North County Area. Approximately 343 tons of municipal,
commercial and industrial wastes were accepted daily at the
landfill during 1992 . Estimated remaining permitted landfill
capacity for NCRCSL is projected to last through the year 2035.
Waste loads coming into NCRCSL which have not been through a
transfer station with recycling programs are dumped on an enclosed
tipping floor. County staff and Alternate Work Program (AWP)
personnel manually sort recyclable material. The remaining waste is
pushed into bins and transported to the landfill for disposal.
Recycling will increase over time as markets are developed for
recyclable material and additional personnel are allocated to this
program. If necessary in the future, the recycling activities can
be mechanized through the installation of a system of picking belts
and mechanical separators.
The Recycling Center provides bins for drop off of presorted
recyclables which include aluminum cans, newspapers, clear and
colored glass, steel cans, and polyethylene terepthalate (PET) and
high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic containers. The Recycling
Center also houses a household hazardous waste (HHW) recycling
program which accepts used motor oil, antifreeze, latex paint and
spent lead-acid batteries from the public free of charge.
2 .
