4.3 EARTHWORK <br /> A. Measurement: <br /> 1. Measurement for payment for the following items shall be by the cubic <br /> yard, calculated on the basis of dimensions shown on the Construction <br /> Drawings, or, if the Construction Drawing dimensions are modified by the <br /> OWNER, DESIGN ENGINEER or QA/QC CONSULTANT, on the basis <br /> of aerial topographic maps, preconstruction surveys, and as-built surveys. <br /> Measurement for excavation and general earthfill by the cubic yard (WMU <br /> FU-03, Desilting Basin, and WMU F-West Leachate Pond) is only for <br /> excavation or general earthfill provided in areas that are not otherwise <br /> included under other bid items, such as anchor trench excavation, <br /> termination berms and road berms. <br /> a. Excavation <br /> b. Coarse Gravel <br /> C. General Earthfill <br /> 2. Measurement for payment for the following items shall be by the square <br /> foot, calculated on the basis of dimensions shown on the Construction <br /> Drawings, or, if the Construction Drawing dimensions are modified by the <br /> OWNER, DESIGN ENGINEER or QA/QC CONSULTANT, on the basis <br /> of as-built surveys. Grading and Subgrade Preparation includes only those <br /> areas upon which geosynthetics are to be placed. Subgrade Fill includes <br /> only those areas that are underlain by the former Austin Road refuse and <br /> soil cover. Planar Areas refer to areas meaasured along the projected <br /> horizontal plane with no slope correction. True Areas refer to areas <br /> measured along the plane of installation and are corrected for slope. <br /> a. Grading and Subgrade Preparation (True Area) <br /> b.
