SECTION 01410 <br /> SURVEYS <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. Section Includes: Requirements for survey Work to be performed by the <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR for layout and performance of Work, and for <br /> measurements of quantities for payment. <br /> B. The OWNER will perform a preconstruction survey and will survey the top of <br /> subgrade, top of clay liner, top of granular drainage material, and top of protective <br /> operations layer to establish that the minimum thickness requirements identified <br /> on the Construction Drawings are achieved. <br /> 1.2 GENERAL <br /> A. The OWNER and EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall retain a California <br /> Licensed Land Surveyor for performance of all survey work <br /> B. Reference Points: Monuments and elevation benchmarks in the vicinity of the <br /> project are shown on the Construction Drawings. Replacement of reference <br /> points displaced by the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will be at the <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR's sole expense. The EARTHWORK <br /> CONTRACTOR shall establish any additional reference points, if necessary. <br /> C. Reviews and Correction: The OWNER reserves the right to perform any desired <br /> checking and correction of the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR's surveys. The <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for (1) any lines, grades, or <br /> measurements which do not comply with specified or proper tolerances, or which <br /> are otherwise defective, and (2) for any resultant defects in the Work. The <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will be required to conduct re-surveys or check <br /> surveys to correct errors indicated by review of the survey record or otherwise <br /> detected. Reviews performed by the OWNER shall not relieve the <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR of the responsibility for adequate performance <br /> of the Work. <br /> D. Equipment: The survey equipment shall be accurate, suitable for the surveys <br /> required in accordance with recognized professional standards, and in proper <br /> condition and adjustment at all times. <br /> E. Field Notes and Records: Survey records and field notes shall be maintained. <br /> The OWNER shall be provided with the survey records and field notes upon <br /> request. <br /> F. Use By the OWNER/QA/QC CONSULTANT: The OWNER/QA/QC <br /> CONSULTANT may at any time use line and grade points and markers <br /> established by the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR. <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL 01410 <br /> 1 SURVEYS <br />
