1.3 SUBMITTALS A. The OWNER will submit the preconstruction survey to the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR and QA/QC CONSULTANT at least two days before the scheduled start date of the Work. The preconstruction survey will be depicted on the Construction Drawings grading plan in a screened font. B. The OWNER will prepare as-built survey drawings for WMU FU-03 liner construction for the top of clay liner, top of granular drainage material, and top of protective operations layer. The as-built drawings will be prepared at a 1:50 scale and will depict the prominent layer with the preceeding layer in a screened font. Grid points and elevations of both the prominent and preceeding layer will be shown. A table listing northings, eastings, and elevations of the coordinate points will also be included on the drawing. C. The results of the WMU FU-03 top of clay liner, top of granular drainage layer, and top of protective operations layer surveys will be provided to the QA/QC CONSULTANT within two days of the survey for approval prior to placing overlying materials. The QA/QC CONSULTANT shall have two working days to review survey results and may independently verify survey results. The time taken by the OWNER to perform the survey and by the QA/QC CONSULTANT in checking and verifying the survey results will be considered included in the total calendar days allotted the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR before liquidated damages are assessed. 1.4 PRECONSTRUCTION SURVEY A. The OWNER will perform a preconstruction survey in all areas identified by the DESIGN ENGINEER as having been modified from the topography depicted on the Construction Drawings. B. The preconstruction survey will be performed at a minimum 100-ft grid, delineate all break points and significant features, and be of sufficient detail to create a topographic map suitable for volume calculation purposes. 1.5 SURVEYS FOR LAYOUT AND PERFORMANCE OF WORK A. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall perform all surveys for layout and performance of the Work, reduce the field notes, and make necessary calculations for performance of the Work. 1.6 AS-BUILT SURVEY DRAWINGS—WMU FU-03 A. The OWNER will establish a 75-foot reference grid for verifying minimum slope grades and for thickness determinations of overlying layers of the lining and LCRS systems. Survey measurements shall be taken at the same reference grid points for each succeeding layer. B. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall notify the OWNER at least 3 working days in advance of when a layer is completed and ready for as-built surveys. The OWNER will perform the as-built survey within two days of the layer being completed. The results of the top of clay liner, top of granular drainage layer, and top of protective operations layer surveys will be provided to the QA/QC CONSULTANT within two days of the survey for approval prior to placing overlying materials.
