The time taken by the CQA Team in checking and verifying the survey results will be considered included in the total calendar days allotted the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR before liquidated damages are assessed. The results of the survey shall be provided to the QA/QC CONSULTANT for approval prior to placing the overlying materials. 3. A leak location test will be performed on the geomembrane before and after placement of the granular drainage material and protective operations layer. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for repairing all identified leaks in the geomembrane prior to placement of the overlying earthwork and geosynthetic materials. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for repairing all identified leaks in the geomembrane following placement of the overlying earthwork and geosynthetic materials. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall remove all earthwork and geosynthetic materials overlying the geomembrane to the extent required to repair the leak and shall repair all identified leaks in the geomembrane at his sole expense. Following the repair of the leak in the geomembrane, the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall replace all earthwork and geosynthetic materials at his sole expense. All Work performed to repair and replace materials shall be performed in accordance with the applicable Specifications sections. B. Granular Drainage Material Placement: 1. The geomembrane lining underlying the GDM layer shall be inspected and approved by the QA/QC CONSULTANT prior to placement of the GDM. 2. GDM shall be placed in a single continuous and approximately horizontal lift unless otherwise specified or specifically permitted by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. 3. Method of dumping and spreading materials shall ensure uniform distribution of the material and prevent damage to the underlying geomembrane lining. 4. Layer thickness shall be as shown on the Construction Drawings. Do not operate placement equipment over the geomembrane lining with less than 12 inches of granular drainage materials in place. 5. Equipment used and placement method shall be approved by the QA/QC CONSULTANT prior to the start of Work. Approval does not absolve the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR of responsibilities for damage to the underlying geomembrane lining, at the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR's sole expense. 6. EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR is responsible for repairing any geomembrane lining material damaged during GDM placement at no cost to the OWNER. FORWARD LANDFILL 02300 19 EARTHWORK
