GSE began pumping the sump area of the lechate pond in the early morning and deploy
geonet on the west slope. Five(5)panels of double textured 60 mil HDPE were deployed in the afternoon
on the south and southeast floor. Light rains in the early evening halted deployment and the remaining
exposed GCL and native clay were covered with 6 mil plastic provided by Forward. The GSE foreman
stated that he would call me first thing in the morning if he were going to be deploying, depending on
weather and site conditions.
Tim S. (Sukut)was on site in the morning to set up pumps in the FU-03 cell sump. The pumps ran for a
short time, were then stopped and no other work was performed by Sukut.
In the early afternoon, a call was made to project manager,Bryan F. (Vector),to inform him of the
saturated condition of the GCL in the sump after the rain and the proposed solution. I informed him that the
saturated material would be removed, subgrade checked and new GCL placed where needed. He stated that
the lysimeters would be fine if not damaged and that GCL replacement would be acceptable. GCL was
replaced in the sump trench and along the floor on either side for approximately three(3)feet.
pared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r—,)
