GSE continued deployment
of the primary 60 mil liner until reaching the sump area. The crew stopped deployment and began repairs
and testing until the sump pipe and gravel could be placed by Sukut. Panels were deployed on the north
slope working toward, and covering, the east slope. Eleven(11)panels were deployed and seamed
throughout the morning and early afternoon. Five(5)destructive samples were marked at random locations
and cut out by GSE. Testing of the samples will be performed tomorrow.
Roll certifications for the GCL which arrived on site Monday were requested from GSE and the foreman
stated that they would be delivered to him tomorrow. He also stated that deployment of the GCL on the 5:1
slope would begin tomorrow morning. I informed him that without the certifications and conformance
testing results, the material would be placed at his own risk.
Sukut worked on the access road with the blade and scraper as the backhoe backfilled the west slope
anchor trench of the FU-03 cell. Laborers raked the subgrade of the north slope of the cell and the five to
one(5:1) slope throughout the day. The pipe welder arrived on site and welding of the leachate pond sump
pipe began. Caps for the leachate pond sump pipe were found, but the brace for the pipe at the anchor
trench would still have to be ordered.
Vector's co-project manager,Montie C.,was on site for the weekly meeting, site recon and to collect
completed data sheets for final report preparation. The backhoe dug one pit to the depth of four(4)feet on
the western 5:1 slope. This was performed in the presence of Montie to verify clay thickness.
In the early afternoon, the weekly meeting was held by Lochlin C. (Allied)to discuss project progress and
scheduling.
Prepared By: Reviewed By: 10
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r-,
