WMU FU -03, WMU F -West Leachate Impoundment and Desilting Basin Forward Landfill 5.3.2 Geomembrane Installation 5.3.2.1 Geomembrane Deployment e Surface Preparation February 2004 Job No. 021605.03 Prior to installation of the HDPE, Vector's CQA Monitor inspected that the GCL has been installed as specified by the project specifications and there was no change in surface condition that required repair work. e Anchor Trenches and Sumps Prior to commencement of geomembrane installation, Vector's CQA Monitor verified that the anchor trenches were suitable for geomembrane installation and free of loose soil or deleterious material. After completion of geosynthetics deployment, Vector's CQA Monitor verified and documented that the backfill for the anchor trenches was placed and compacted in accordance with the project specifications and no damage occurred to the geosynthetics material. e Layout Drawing The liner contractor, GSE, submitted a proposed panel layout drawing that showed the general panel configurations and dimensions. The drawings were approved by Vector prior to the installation of the HDPE geomembrane. e Field Panel Identification Prior to geomembrane deployment, Vector's CQA Monitor and GSE discussed and agreed to the identification code for each panel deployed. During the deployment, Vector's CQA Monitor verified that the installer marked the panels deployed and that each panel placed was marked with the manufacturer's roll number. e Field Panel Placement During the panel placement, Vector's CQA Monitor kept panel deployment logs. These logs recorded the location (panel number and roll number), installation schedule (date and time), weather conditions (temperature and wind), and thickness of the sheet.
