The health risk assessment was completed in March
2002. The health risk assessment is discussed further in the Draft Environmental
Impact Report.
Forward is permitted to accept a maximum of 8,668 tons/day of Class III Wastes
and Class II Wastes for disposal (i.e., Class II Wastes that cannot be diverted from
disposal for beneficial use) as described above.
4.3.1 MATERIALS ACCEPTED FOR BENEFICIAL REUSE
The Forward Landfill accepts materials for beneficial uses such as alternative daily
cover (ADC), wet weather deck preparation, internal haul road improvements and
earthen drainage control improvements. The average and maximum needs in tons
tetage-fox each beneficial reuse material accepted at the Forward Landfill are as
follows:
MATERIAL TYPE AVERAGE NEEDS MAXIMUM
tons da NEEDS tons da
Green Waste and Com ostable Material ADC 206240 669
Contaminated Soil 1,546 4-560 3,287
Beneficial Inerts* other than soil)L) 133 -5-50 475
Ash and Cement Kiln Dust ADC 20 172
Treated Auto Shredder Residue ADC 205-500 1,368
G&D (Inert Material) ADG
Other ADC Materials e. . shredded tiresl 54 157
Beneficial inert materials include concrete, asphalt, roofing tile, and other rock/aggregate-based-materials.
(1) Beneficial inerts after processing are mainly used on-site for uses other than C&D ADC.
