Fourth rter 2006 Groundwater Treatment
Facility Monitoring Report
Forward Landfill WDR Order No. R5-2003-0080
1.0 Summary
This Fourth Quarter 2006 Monitoring Report for the Forward Incorporated (Forward)
Landfill Groundwater Treatment Facility (GTF) presents the monitoring results for influent
and effluent. This report was prepared as stipulated by the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board (CV Water Board) Waste Discharge Requirements(WDR)
Order No. R5-2003-0080,which was adopted on April 25,2003.
Following review of the information presented in this document, the following conclusions
have been made:
® The GTF operated for 1,635 hours between October 1 and December 27,2006,at
78.5 percent uptime and treated 21.555 million gallons of groundwater. During this
period, the GTF removed approximately 2.3 pounds of volatile organic compounds
(VOC).
• During fourth quarter 2006,effluent samples collected in October,November, and
December met WDR Order No. R5-2003-0080 for VOCs. No VOCs were detected.
• An apparent leak in the buried groundwater conveyance pipeline was discovered on
December 19,2006.The leak is located approximately 400 to 450 feet east of Extraction
Well (EW)2.The pipeline between EW-1 and EW-2 was isolated on December 20,2006,
to prevent further leaks. Repairs to the groundwater conveyance pipeline are scheduled
for the week of January 8,2007.
2.0 Operational Summary
rY
The GTF operated for 1,635 hours between October 1 and December 27,2006, at 78.5 percent
uptime, and treated 21.555 million gallons of groundwater at an average flow rate of
220 gallons per minute,or 0.316 million gallon per day (mgd). During this period, the GTF
removed approximately 2.3 pounds of VOCs.
