Borehole Log and Monitoring Well Construction Summary <br /> Austin Road Landfill, Manteca, California Page 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 Purpose <br /> On behalf of Forward, Inc., Herst & Associates, Inc. has prepared this Borehole Log and <br /> Monitoring Well Construction Summary (Summary) to describe the processes utilized during <br /> the drilling and installation of four(4) monitoring wells near the Austin Road Landfill, Manteca, <br /> California (Figure 1). This Summary has been prepared to include some but not all of the <br /> information identified in the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) — <br /> Central Valley Region's guidance document entitled Items To Be Included In A Monitoring <br /> Well Installation Workplan And A Monitoring Well Installation Report Of Results. The <br /> remaining information required by this document will be included in future comprehensive <br /> reports. The drilling and monitoring well installation activities were designed to provide <br /> additional groundwater quality and extent data for groundwater present at a depth of <br /> approximately 140 feet below ground surface (bgs) north of the Austin Road Landfill. Drilling <br /> and installation activities were initially described in a 2008 Work Plan. The Work Plan was <br /> approved by RWQCB in a November 3, 2008 email.
