Analytical • •
E
A representative number of samples will be sent to the Forward contract laboratory where they
may be analyzed for TOC, Electrical Conductivity, BOD, Total Nitrogen, Sodium, Chloride,
Sulfate, TPH-GRO/DRO (C6 -C28), and pH. Based on the metals identified in the rinsate
sample, soil samples will also be analyzed for aluminum, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium,
mercury, selenium and vanadium.
3.1 Analytical Methods
Prior to sampling, the following will be confirmed with the approved laboratory: 1) holding times,
2) detection limits, 3) quality objectives, and 4) sample volume. The following test methods (or
similar at the recommendation of the laboratory) will be required for each sample:
➢ Total Organic Carbon (TOC), EPA Method 415.1
➢ Electrical Conductivity, EPA Method 120.1
➢ Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Standard Method 52108
➢ Total Nitrogen, EPA Method 300.0
➢ Sodium, EPA Method 200.7
Chloride and Sulfate, EPA Method 300.0
➢ pH, EPA Method 9045C — Non Aqueous
➢ Metals (Al, As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Hg* Se, and, 1), extracted using the California Waste Extraction Test with
deionized water as the extractant (DIWET); EPA Method 60108
➢ Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH Gasoline Range/TPH Diesel Range), EPA Method 8015M
*Note: Mercury (Hg) analyses shall be EPA Method 7471
o a
As soils are inherently heterogeneous, no field duplicate samples will be required. No other
field quality control will be required.
WFORWARD LANDFILL LAND APPLICATION 7
