- Guinn completed placing embankment fill to the 68' contour. 40
- Guinn completed the grading of the FU -13 cell floor.
- Guinn completed grading of the LCRS trenches.
- Guinn completed removing soil from around the existing leachate tank.
- Guinn continued excavation on the 2:1 cut.
3. Projected schedule:
- Guinn will clean out the tie-in with previous WMU's.
- Guinn will remove excess soil from the 2:1 cut.
- Guinn will remove the tank and gravel from WMU FU -8, but leave the existing
liner in place. Ruben will coordinate with site forces to ensure that any leachate is
pumped and removed from the sump area.
- Guinn will finish grade from the 68 -foot contour to the Tie -In.
- The geogrid was ordered and should arrive on-site by next Friday.
- Comanco is planning to be on-site to install the geomembrane on the slopes on
July 2 and on the floor starting June 23`d
4. Field observations, problems, conflicts, and changes: 0
- Sangeeta provided a memorandum on May 30th regarding revisions to the WMU
FU -13 Construction documents. The revisions involved the geogrid, CQA Manual,
Sheet 3 of the Construction Drawings, and Bid List. A copy of the memorandum
has been attached to these meeting minutes.
5. Issues which impede the construction schedule and corrective measures:
- Neither Guinn nor Comanco have the geogrid installation in their contracts.
Lochlin requested that Comanco provide Republic with a installation cost. Scott H.
stated he would get a quote out in the next day or so.
- Guinn has identified a zone of clay to the east of the cell that is approximately
4'x175'x350' in volume (9,074 cy). This will not be enough clay to complete the
project. An additional 5,000 cy of clay is required to complete the compacted clay
liner. Another zone of clay has been identified further to the east. Guinn will remove
the topsoil in this area and GLA will test it for suitability. Buck will survey the top of
the topsoil and top of clay prior to excavation in order to obtain the quantity of
material moved.
Forward Landfill WMU FU -13
Progress Meeting Minutes Page 2
