2. Review of work progress since previous meeting: 40
- Guinn completed the main slope anchor trench and 2:1 slope anchor trench
excavation.
- Guinn removed overburden and excavated and processed clay material from the
location further to the east. The clay is being placed in a stockpile. Approximately
14,240 cy have been moved with an additional 6,900 cy of overburden.
3. Projected schedule:
- Guinn will continue to haul, moisture condition, and stockpile clay.
- Guinn will excavate and remove the existing LCRS sump. Guinn with coordinate
with Republic for leachate removal and may pump ahead of the sump and remove
leachate from the LCRS pipe.
- Guinn is set up to do the off loading of the geosynthetics.
- Comanco will place liner starting on July 2"d. Comanco will fill sandbags on July
1St and Guinn will have the clay completed at the toe of the slope.
- The Geogrid should be arriving this week.
- Guinn will revise their construction schedule to show clay being placed in two
phases.
4. Field observations, problems, conflicts, and changes:
- GLA stated that Guinn needs to keep the maximum amount of moisture in the
clay in order to obtain the required permeability values.
- GLA is currently running the first clay stockpile permeability evaluation test at
90% compaction and 3% over optimum moisture. The results will be transmitted as
soon as they are available.
- Guinn will need to proof roll the subgrade prior to liner placement.
5. Issues which impede the construction schedule and corrective measures:
- GLA just received samples of the geosynthetic materials and will be running large
scale direct shear testing on the specified interfaces. This information is critical for
the delivery of materials from the manufacturers.
6. Review of submittals and RFI's:
- Submittal S -01A was provided by Guinn and was approved by GLA for the HDPE
pipe.
- Guinn provided the leachate tank submittal, S-02. Various options were discussed
at the meeting including using a corrugated HDPE pipe with perforations and
HDPE plates welded to the top and bottom.
