1-4
Stage V
Stage V is an 11.8-acre area as shown on Figure 5. This area includes final fill slopes along
the northeast of the northern portion of the landfill up to an elevation of 90 feet AMSL. The
closure volume estimates are based on the top of waste fill plan down to the master plan
base grades. As part of this project, the area will be cleared and grubbed, as necessary, and
the closure improvements constructed (e.g., final cover, permanent drainage, landfill gas
system modification, etc.).
Stage VI
Stage VI is a 20.7-acre area as shown on Figure 6. This area includes the northern final fill
slopes adjacent to Stages I, IV, and V up to an elevation of 150 feet AMSL. The closure
volume estimates are based on the top of waste fill plan down to the master plan base
grades. As part of this project, the area will be cleared and grubbed, as necessary, and the
closure improvements constructed (e.g., final cover, permanent drainage, landfill gas system
modification, etc.).
Stage VII
Stage VII is a 166.7-acre area as shown on Figure 7. This area includes the entire deck area
of the landfill up to an elevation of 200 feet AMSL. The closure volume estimates are based
on a "flat deck" at an elevation of 200 feet AMSL down to the master plan base grades. As
part of this project, the area will be cleared and grubbed, as necessary, and the closure
improvements constructed (e.g., final cover, permanent drainage, landfill gas system
modification, etc.).
Stage VIII
Stage VIII is a 24.1-acre area as shown on Figure 8. This area includes the entire deck and
slope area of the southern most portion of the landfill. The closure volume estimates are
based on a "flat deck" down to the master plan base grades. As part of this project, the
area will be cleared and grubbed, as necessary, and the closure improvements constructed
(e.g., final cover, permanent drainage, landfill gas system modification, etc.).
1.3 Maximum Extent of Landfill That Will Ever Require Closure
In accordance with 27 CCR, Section 21790(b)(6),the maximum extent of the landfill that will
require closure at any given time during the life of the landfill is approximately 187 acres.
Table 1 presents the anticipated staged closure acreages versus the liner development
phases to show the maximum extent that would ever require closure. As shown, liner
development Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4 would be completed before the Stage I closure is
implemented creating the basis for maximum extent.
The site's closure staging was developed so as to not interfere with active disposal
operations.
Forward Landfill SWT Engineering
PCPCMP Amendment No.4-May 2013
z:\projects\allied waste\forward\five year permit rvw 2013\itd-5 yr pr 2013\appendices\app a-pcpcmp 2013\pcpcmp amend 2013.doc
