Power
' will be provided from the existing utility lines along Harney Lane.
Utility companies operating in the area should be contacted to deter-
mine various utility requirements for the project.
' Sufficient on-site water. in the existing pond in Module 9 will be
maintained so that dust-control and fire-protection vehicles can be
rapidly filled. Potable water will be made available by emplacing on-
site wells. Wastewater from the site will be discharged into an on-
site septic tank system.
4.9 LANDFILL SLOPES AND FINAL SOIL COVER
1
Final landfill slopes will be constructed no steeper than 12 percent.
' Minimum final surface slopes of 3 percent (after settlement) will be
used to provide sufficient slope for surface-water runoff. Drainage
' swales will be necessary at three locations and will be constructed
and maintained at a minimum 2 percent slope to divert surface drainage
' away from covered wastes.
The completed landfill will be covered with at least 4.5 feet of cover
material consisting of the following:
' • A minimum 24-inch foundation layer of compacted interme-
diate soil cover placed over selected waste fill
' • A minimum 12-inch layer of clayey soil compacted to
achieve a hydraulic conductivity of 1 x 10-6 cm/sec or
less, placed over the foundation layer
PJ9 9390209A.00D 21
' Emon Associates
