Referral* phone numbers for obtaining additional <br /> information should be provided with these notices. <br /> • Provide informational handouts for the public that stress <br /> the concept of "reduce, reuse, and recycle. " Information <br /> on product exchanges and substitution of nonhazardous for <br /> hazardous products will be provided. <br /> • Require as part of facility permit conditions that off- <br /> site hazardous waste transfer stations accept hazardous <br /> wastes from the public (provided the facility is designed <br /> to handle that particular type of hazardous waste) . <br /> • Maintain a "hotline" and respond to inquiries on the <br /> proper disposal of small amounts of hazardous waste. <br /> • Incorporate educational materials on the safe use and <br /> disposal of household hazardous waste (HH ) into primary <br /> and secondary school curricula and make them available to <br /> the general public. <br /> • Develop collection points where certain unused products <br /> or HHWs can be recycled or reused. <br /> • Consider having one or more locations that will accept <br /> used motor oil and batteries, either at a designated <br /> transfer facility or collection point. <br /> PJ9 9390502D.00D 4-10 Rev. 1 11/08/88 <br />
