0 5.3 ARALYSIS RESULT6-
E
Results of the static and seismic stability analyses are as follows.
5.3.1 Static Conditions
Table 2 summarizes the results of the static stability analyses. Critical failure
surfaces for the analyzed conditions are shown on Figures 6, 7, and 8, respec-
tively. In general, the static safety factors are 1.6 to 6.3 and are greater than the
minimum acceptable safety factor of 1.5. Because the clay liner strength param-
eters are generally weaker than the foundation soils, critical failure surfaces are
in the clay liner as shown on Figures 6 and 8.
5.3.2 Seismic Conditions
Table 2 also summarizes the results of the seismic slope stability analyses. Yield
accelerations for the excavation slope, refuse moving face, and final grading
were 0.45g, 0.15g, and 0.23g, respectively, resulting in negligible estimated per-
manent displacement during an MPE design earthquake.
7"J9 .0OO 12 Rev. 0 May 23, 1989
