8 PRELIMINARY CLOSURE/POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE PLAN <br /> The County intends to seek an increase in the permitted height; however, at this time the current <br /> maximum height limit is 190 feet MSL. The Preliminary Closure/Postclosure Plan will be <br /> revised based on the final height. <br /> For the purposes of this JTD, the information submitted is based on the current permitted height. <br /> Information contained in this section complies with Title 27 Section 21769 and contains <br /> amendments to the existing Preliminary Closure/Postclosure Plan dated July 1990. <br /> 8.1 PRELIMINARY CLOSURE <br /> 8.1.1 Landfill Closure Schedule <br /> The landfill is expected to reach full capacity in 2037 based on the present capacity estimate. <br /> The landfill is anticipated to be closed within 2 years after reaching full capacity. Portions of the <br /> landfill may be closed in advance of reaching full capacity. <br /> 8.1.2 Preliminary Closure Costs <br /> The preliminary closure costs are shown in Table 6. Costs include: <br /> • Placement of the landfill cap <br /> • Installation of the landfill gas, groundwater monitoring, and leachate control systems <br /> • Site improvements including drainage structures, security, and dismantling structures <br /> Costing assumes closure is conducted by a third party contractor and costing is in current 2004 <br /> dollars. <br /> 8.1.3 Construction Quality Assurance <br /> Construction quality assurance (CQA) plans are prepared to assure that the facility, or <br /> component thereof, is constructed as specified in the approved design.
