SECTION 5 <br />(3/04) <br />After acceptance of the contract pursuant to Section 7-1.17, "Acceptance of <br />Contract," of the Standard Specifications, the amount, if any, payable for a contract item <br />of work in excess of the maximum value for progress payment purposes hereinabove <br />listed for said item, will be included for payment in the first estimate made after <br />completion of all required work. <br />5-1.07 CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS. --Certain Contract Change <br />Orders may be approved by the Director of Public Works, all others shall be approved <br />by the Board of Supervisors. <br />5-1.08 ACCEPTANCE OF CONTRACT.—Acceptance of contract as <br />complete shall require the approval of the Board of Supervisors. <br />5-1.09 EXTRA WORK.—Section 4-1.03D, "Extra Work," of the Standard <br />Specifications is amended by adding the following between the second and third <br />paragraphs: <br />If, in the opinion of the Engineer, such work cannot reasonably be <br />performed concurrently with other items of work, and if a controlling item <br />of work is delayed thereby, an adjustment of contract time will be made. <br />5-1.10 AIR POLLUTION CONTROL. --Air pollution control shall conform to <br />the provisions in Section 7-1.01 F, "Air Pollution Control," of the Standard Specifications <br />and these special provisions. <br />Material to be disposed of shall not be burned unless the Contractor has <br />obtained a permit to bum.combustible material resulting from clearing and grubbing <br />operations from an air pollution control officer of the local or regional authority. A copy <br />of the permit shall be filed with the Engineer before beginning any burning. All such <br />burning shall be conducted in strict conformance with the provisions stipulated in said <br />permit and at such times and in such manner as to prevent the fire from spreading to <br />areas adjoining the right of way. <br />In case the burning precedes construction operations, the piles may be placed in <br />the center of the right of way; otherwise the piles shall be placed in the most convenient <br />location at the side of the right of way and beyond slope lines where they may be <br />burned without damage to the surrounding forest cover or adjacent property. <br />fl <br />5-2 <br />(SPECSXCO-5-2) <br />NCLF-5-2-EJ <br />0 <br />
