NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS <br /> (02/01) <br /> COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS <br /> Sealed proposals will be received by the Department of Public Works of the County of <br /> San Joaquin at the reception counter, 1810 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California, until <br /> 1:30 o'clock p.m. on the 19th day of March 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and <br /> read at the Department of Public Works, for the Construction Of Perimeter LFG Migration <br /> Monitoring Wells at the North County and Foothill Sanitary Landfills project, all in <br /> accordance with the Plans and Specifications therefor. <br /> The work is located at 17720 East Harney Lane, approximately 9 miles east of the City <br /> of Lodi, and at 6484 North Waverly Road, approximately 5 miles north of the City of Linden. At <br /> their discretion, prospective bidders may attend a pre-bid job walk at the sites and observe the <br /> work areas. This pre-bid job walk is non-mandatory; bidders need not attend this pre-bid job walk <br /> to apply. The pre-bid job walk will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 as follows: <br /> North County Sanitary Landfill: 9:00 am — 10:30 am <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill: 11:30 am — 1:30 pm <br /> Questions regarding this project may be submitted by fax to (209) 953-7424 Attention: <br /> David Mendoza. Questions received before 12 noon March 9, 2009 will be addressed. <br /> One copy of the specifications and plans may be obtained at the Office of the <br /> Director of Public Works, 1810 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California 95205 <br /> (mailing address:) P. O. Box 1810, Stockton, California 95201, upon the payment of a Ten Dollar <br /> ($10.00) non-refundable fee. <br /> Bids are required for the entire work described herein. A bid security of 10% is required <br /> from all bidders. A payment bond and a performance bond each 100% of the value of the <br /> contract are required from the successful bidder. <br /> San Joaquin County has adopted a policy to require local hire participation in the <br /> construction workforce in accordance with the Board of Supervisors' policy.
