' Sec. 10-1, Construction Details
Std. Spec.Sec 13
Special
3.05 PROBE PIPE ASSEMBLY
A. Probe pipe shall have no joints, kinks or damages.
' B. Stretch the probe pipe to a near-straight condition prior to cutting the probe pipe to
the specified length.
C. Cut probe pipe longer than the specified dimensions. The intial total probe pipe
length shall be a minimum of 1-foot longer including the total depth and the height
from ground level.
' D. Cover top end of probe pipe to prevent materials getting in. The cover shall last
through out well installation process.
E. Measure and mark the probe depth on the top end of the probe pipe.
F. Secure PVC cap with No. 6 3/8-inch stainless steel screws.
' G. Measure and mark the perforated section of the probe pipe. Verify the dimension
of the perforated section of the probe pipe with the Engineer. The perforated
' section of each probe pipe will be based on the sampling intervals of each well.
H. Drill perforation holes on the probe pipe per the construction drawings.
I. Secure prope pipe weight at the bottom of the probe pipe. Probe pipe weight shall
be securely tied with 16 gauge black annealed tie wire, or equivalent. Tie wire
shall not pass through perforated holes.
' J Maintain the probe pipe identification throughout the work for accurate labeling.
Accurate probe pipe labeling is of the essence. Identify each probe pipe based on
the depth by painting the top portion of the probe pipe with fast drying oil based
paint a minimum of two (2) hours before inserting the probe pipe into the well bore-
hole as follows:
1. Deep probe pipe: Yellow/Gold
2. Intermediate probe pipe: Blue
' 3. Shallow probe pipe: Red
Y
