WELL ENCLOSURE <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.01 This section covers the installation of well enclosures as shown in the construction <br /> drawings, as specified herein. <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> 2.01 STEEL CHANNEL <br /> A. Steel Channel shall be solid hot-dipped galvanized single channel, Tolco Style <br /> A-12 or equivalent. <br /> 2.02 CUSHION PIPE CLAMP <br /> A. Cushion pipe clamp shall be comprised of a metal clamp band and plastic insert, <br /> sized for the supported pipe. Pipe clamp shall be constructed to allow tightening <br /> ' with screw or other common hand tool. Plastic insert shall firmly support the <br /> enclosed pipe. Cushion pipe clamp shall be Tolco Cushion Clamp series 039923. <br /> ' PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 FABRICATION <br /> ' A. Contractor shall cut materials straight and square. <br /> B. The well enclosure shall be painted with two (2) coats of RED rust inhibitive paint. <br /> ' The steel channel shall be painted also. <br /> C. The well enclosure cover shall open and close smoothly. The Engineer will be the <br /> sole judge of smoothness of operation. <br /> 3.02 INSTALLATION <br /> ' A. Install the well enclosure according to the construction drawings. <br /> B. Brace well enclosure plumb during concrete placement until set. <br /> C. Pour neat cement inside the well enclosure 6 inches above well's concrete pad <br /> ' grade level after the well enclosure has been set. When pouring neat cement, <br /> protect probe pipes from contact with neat cement. <br /> D. Do not disturb the well enclosure after installation for a minimum of two (2) hours to <br /> allow its concrete base to harden. <br /> E. Clamp probe pipe to the steel channel at the identified clamping location. <br />
