FENCING <br /> ' PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> ' Unless otherwise specified, all fencing work shall be in accordance with Standard Detail A-86 <br /> and Standard Specifications Section 80. <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> All gate frame pipes and gate posts shall be galvanized schedule 40 unless otherwise <br /> specified. <br /> 2.01 DRIVE GATE <br /> A. Corners of the gate frame shall be welded. Welds shall be smooth, sound and shall <br /> ' develop the strength of the connected member. <br /> B. Welded corners of the gate frame shall be painted with two (2) coats of rust inhibitive <br /> SILVER paint. <br /> ' C. Gate frame panels shall be cross trussed with galvanized adjustable truss rods having <br /> diameters of not less than 3/8-inch. <br /> D. Chain link fabric per Standard Specifications Section 80-4.01 B shall be attached to the <br /> gate frame by the use of galvanized stretch bars and 7 gauge galvanized tie wires. <br /> E. Suitable tension connectors shall be spaced at approximately one foot intervals. <br /> F. Drive gates shall be hung with two (2) galvanized steel adjustable arm hinges. <br /> ' G. A combination steel or malleable iron catch and locking attachment shall be provided <br /> with the gate. <br /> H. Post caps shall be schedule 40 galvanized post caps. <br /> I. Gates shall swing as directed by the Engineer. All drive gates shall open and close <br /> freely without any obstruction. Any drive gates not installed to the satisfaction of the <br /> Engineer will be required to be re-installed at no additional cost to the County <br /> ' 2.02 WALK GATE <br /> A. Corners of the gate frame shall be welded. Welds shall be smooth and shall develop the <br /> strength of the connected member. Welded corners of the gate frame shall be painted <br /> with two (2) coats of rust inhibitive SILVER paint. The gate frame shall be braced with <br /> ' 3/8-inch diameter truss rod. Chain link fabric per Standard Specifications Section <br /> 80-4.01 B shall be attached to the gate frame by the use of galvanized stretch bars and <br /> galvanized tie wires. The gates shall be hung by two (2) adjustable arm malleable iron <br /> hinges. A combination steel or malleable iron catch and locking attachment shall be <br /> provided with the gate. <br /> ' B. The height of walk gates vary. Walk gates in alignment with barbed wire fence shall be <br /> 4-feet high. Walk gates in alignment with existing chain link fence shall be fabricated <br /> and installed to the height of the existing chain link fence. <br />
