Landfill Gas Migration Monitoring Well Installation Report October 2009 <br /> North County Landfill Project No. 03160203 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report presents the results of the landfill gas (LFG) migration monitoring well <br /> installations at the North County Sanitary Landfill (NCSL) in accordance with <br /> California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 27 Section 20925. The site is located <br /> about nine miles east of Lodi as shown of Figure 1. Twelve LFG probes were <br /> installed around the perimeter of the landfill at the locations shown of Figure 2, per <br /> the project's plans and specifications (Figure 3). <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. (Vector) provided Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) <br /> services during the construction of the twelve LFG migration monitoring wells at <br /> the North County Landfill, which began on July 20, 2009 and was completed on <br /> July 29, 2009. <br /> Vector's scope of work during the project included the following tasks: <br /> • Logging and classifying soils encountered during drilling in accordance with <br /> Title 27 CCR Section 20925(d). <br /> • Documenting LFG probe well construction, including depths of probes, pea- <br /> gravel sections, and bentonite seals. <br /> • Providing the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) <br /> inspectors with hand-written preliminary soil logs before each well <br /> construction, notifying Public Works when a permeable sand lens is <br /> encountered in the designed bentonite seal zone, and answering technical <br /> questions regarding soil characterization. <br /> • Providing brief daily reports to the Field Engineer each day, and information <br /> required for well completion reports to the Contractor. <br /> • Providing a certified report summarizing and presenting the results of the <br /> project. <br /> go <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive• Grass Valley, CA 95945•(530)272-2448 <br /> 1 <br />
