Prohibited materials include hazardous waste and medical waste. County
staff observes customers as they unload in the Recycling Center and if such materials are found
in customers' vehicles during disposal, then County staff records customer information and
follows procedures identified in Section 6.7.1.
If prohibited material is discovered after the vehicle which delivered the material has left the
premises, Recycling Center staff places this material in a double -containment storage locker for
temporary storage. A licensed hazardous waste hauler for proper disposal then transports these
materials off-site.
North County RC&SL
Joint Technical Document
Page 54 of 68 Public Works/Solid Waste
County of San Joaquin — October 10, 2014
