Tom Horton.
Solid Waste Manager
San Joaquin County 1
Post Office Box -1810
Stockton, CA 9520.1
SWAT. REPORT, CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (CASE NO. 1896)
We have reviewed the SWAT Report, prepared R p p d by Emcon, for Corr -al Hollow Sanitary
Landfill. Our comments are as follows:
1.. The determination of the aquifer permeabilities are ggod, but the
permeability of the soils immediately underlying the site is not addressed.
2. ,The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is still a Class II -2 landfill. We
hope to reclassify' the :site in the near future. At that time, it may be
reclassified as a Class III Landfill.
3. Surface water sampling should be done whenur_fa
.S ce water flows occur.
However, it is not necessary to do this s4mprling and analysis to complete
the SWAT.
4. Due to the contamination of the .blanks and other samples, several analyses
need to be re-run.However,-the existing analyses do not indicate that
there should be any concern about leakage of 'hazardous wastes'.
Therefore, the re -testing need not be done to complete the SWAT.
Re. -testing may be'aCtompltshed after the next ,rainy season when there is a
greater chance for the formatton of. leachate.
The SWAT report for Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is ap r v . The comments
above are'for your information and use. If you have any questions regarding
this matter; please call'me at (916) 36.1-5737.
,ZFIFF!;X
.
