maintained around the landfill perimeter during the dry <br /> season. <br /> In the event of a fire within the fill, the primary method <br /> employed to extinguish the fire is to push the burning waste <br /> to one area and then to cover it with earth, to smother the <br /> fire, using landfill heavy equipment. Response from the <br /> City of Tracy and also Tracy Rural Fire Departments is also <br /> available. The landfill also is equipped with a water truck <br /> which can be used to suppress fires on site. Also, each <br /> building on site is equipped with a fire extinguisher. <br /> I. Salvaging: Salvaging is not allowed at the Corral Hollow <br /> Sanitary Landfill. <br /> J. Effects of Noise: The remoteness of the site minimizes the <br /> impact on those in the general vicinity. Adequate mufflers <br /> are maintained on all equipment to provide proper noise <br /> control for protection of employees and those utilizing the <br /> site for waste disposal. In addition, site employees are <br /> supplied with noise protection equipment. <br /> K. Compliance with State and Local Fire Agency Requirements: <br /> Fire is controlled first by the procedures outlined in <br /> Section H. , above. Regular inspections are conducted by the <br /> City of Tracy Fire Department to ensure their compliance <br /> procedures are met and maintained. <br /> L. Surrounding Land Use Compatibility: <br /> Information on Land Use is contained in Section 2595h(4) and <br /> Appendix C of the Report of Waste Discharge for the site, <br /> which is Appendix C of this report.
