Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill PostClosure Maintenance Plan Revised January, 1994 I. FINAL POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE PLAN The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located approximately 5 miles south of Tracy, California on Corral Hollow Road (figure 1) . It is operated by the County of San Joaquin as a Class III landfill in accordance with Solid Waste Facility Permit Number 39-AA-005 issued by the San Joaquin County Public Health Department and Waste Discharge Requirements Order Number 89-046, issued by the State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region. This report presents the Final Closure Plan for the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill and is intended to comply with state closure regulations Title 14, Chapter 3, Article 7.8, Chapter 5, Article 3 .4, and Chapter 5, Article 3 .5. 1.0 RESPONSIBILITY FOR POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE The San Joaquin County Public Works Department will be responsible for all aspects of postclosure maintenance. (209) 468-3066 2.0 CURRENT MONITORING AND COLLECTION SYSTEMS 2 . 1 Leachate The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill does not have a liner or a leachate collection system. Therefore, leachate is not collected. Leachate will be controlled by maintaining proper cover to promote runoff rather than infiltration. Article 7.8, section 17781(e) (1) states "The operator shall collect leachate in accordance with Title 23, CCR, Subchapter 15, Section 2543 , and approved by the local enforcement agency and the board" . Section 2543 of Subchapter 15 states "Leachate collection and removal systems are required for Class I landfills, surface impoundments, and waste piles; for Class II landfills and surface impoundments; and for Class III landfills which have a liner or 2
