File No. 20-1008-36 KLEINFELDER <br /> July 14, 1995 <br /> SUA MARY OF TEST PAD RESULTS <br /> CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> EYMODUCTIO <br /> At your request, Kleinfelder, Inc. provided testing and observation services at the Corral Hollow <br /> Sanitary Landfill located southeast of the intersection of Interstate 580 and Corral Hollow Road <br /> approximately 5 miles south of Tracy, California. The purpose of our observations was to serve <br /> as a third party Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) monitor during test pad construction. <br /> PREVIOUS REPORTS <br /> The following previous reports have been submitted by Kleinfelder for the Corral Hollow Sanitary <br /> landfill closure: <br /> • "Construction Quality Assurance Plan for Construction of Final Cover, Corral Hollow <br /> Sanitary Landfill, San Joaquin County, California," dated January 31, 1995, File No. <br /> 20-1008-36. <br /> TEST PAD LOCATION <br /> The test pads were located at the southeast corner of the landfill. Four of the test pads were <br /> constructed at the base of the slope on fairly level ground. One test pad was constructed on the <br /> slope to evaluate compaction and permeability. <br /> RVIPORT STOCKPILE BORROW SOILS <br /> The import stockpile borrow area was located at Granite Construction's Tracy Plant. The borrow <br /> area stockpile soils were classified as a brown clayey silty sand with some gravel (SM). Samples <br /> of the stockpile borrow soils were acquired by Kleinfelder prior to test pad construction for sieve <br /> analysis, with the following results. <br /> Stockpile Borrow Soil Description -200 Sieve (Percent g) <br /> Brown clayey silty sand with some gravel (SM) 43, 31$ 25, 52, 31 <br /> GSM.7nd CH195 Page 1 of 10 July 14, 1995 <br /> 20-1008-36 01995,Kleinfelder,Inc. <br />
