[7 <br />r. <br />C <br />2.04 MINOR CONCRETE <br />A. Concrete for fence posts, bollards, and other non-structural features shall conform to <br />the requirements for minor concrete in Section 90-10 of the Caltrans Standard <br />Specifications. <br />2.05 OTHER MATERIALS <br />A. Provide other materials, not specifically described but required for a complete and <br />proper installation, as selected by the Contractor subject to the approval of the <br />Engineer. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this Section will be <br />performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completions of the <br />,Work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. Notify the <br />Engineer of such conditions and proposed corrective action before correcting <br />unsatisfactory conditions. <br />3.02 EMBEDDED ITEMS <br />A. Do not embed piping or conduit in structural concrete. <br />B. Set bolts, inserts, and other required items in the concrete, accurately secured so <br />they will not be displaced, and in the precise locations needed, as indicated by <br />templates and final equipment shop drawings. <br />C. Do not cut in-place concrete for retrofit of items not installed through oversight of <br />the Contractor, except by approval of the Engineer. <br />3.03 MIXING CONCRETE <br />A. Transit mix the concrete in accordance with provisions of Section 90-6 of the <br />Standard Specifications. <br />B. Slump allowance shall be between 3 and 5 inches as determined using ASTM C143. <br />C. Place concrete within 60 minutes after water is first introduced into the mix. <br />1 3.04 TESTING <br />A. The Contractor will provide strength tests of concrete samples in accordance with <br />ASTM C39.
