Deficient equipment shall be rejected, to be
replaced by acceptable equipment at no additional cost to the County.
F. The boring locations of each well shall be staked by the contractor as shown on the
Construction Drawings. The proposed locations may be adjusted due to site
conditions by the Engineer.
G. Do not use drilling muds or liquids.
H. Notify the Engineer if water is encountered during drilling. The Engineer will
advise the Contractor as to whether drilling is to continue, or whether the well will
be constructed or abandoned. If the well is to be constructed, the Engineer may
direct the Contractor to seal the borehole by placing a bentonite seal of five (5) feet
above the water. The Contractor shall then complete the well starting from the top
of the seal. The Contractor shall be paid for the maximum depth drilled for usable
holes, provided that the depth is less than or equal to the depth shown on the
Construction Drawings or as requested by the Engineer.
I. The Contractor shall maintain a log of each well bore hole drilled. A sample log
form is included in this section. The minimum information required on the logs is:
1. Well depth
2. Well screen interval
3. Bentonite seal depths
4. Description of cuttings (i.e. type of soil or refuse, state of decay, relative
moisture content, unusual odors, date of waste, if newspapers or magazines are
legible in the cutting) every five feet or more frequently if a change in refuse
characteristics are observed
5. Time of day, driller information, and equipment used, and any problems
encountered
6. Waste disposal method and location
7. Location of identifiable liquid seeps
8. Complete and detailed description of materials used in well construction
including; length, diameter, and type of casing; screen interval size and
perforation pattern; filter pack size and type; and composition of bentonite
seals
SHAW ENviR®NMENTAL, /NC.
San Joaquin County — Extension of Cap Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill — CH—Closure Cap Ext Proj_Technical Specs -4-19-12 Revl.DocRev. 0, 04/05/2012
Landfill Gas Extraction Well
02776-5
