A typed copy <br />shall be submitted to the Engineer for review and acceptance after completion of the <br />project. Well completion shall not be considered complete until the well log has <br />been accepted as complete by the Engineer. <br />K. All refuse and soil with refuse drilled out shall be disposed in a Contractor provided <br />container and hauled off-site at the end of each working day. The Contractor may <br />choose to dispose the materials in the container at the Tracy Transfer Station located <br />at 30703 MacArthur drive in Tracy. <br />L. If a well bore hole is not drilled by the end of the day and is to be left open, the <br />Contractor shall securely cover the top opening of the bore hole with plywood, or <br />approved equivalent to prevent any landfill gas escaping into the atmosphere. The <br />Contractor shall cordon off the area with safety ribbon and barricades. At all times, <br />the Contractor shall be responsible to enforce Cal OSHA Health and Safety <br />requirements and secure the construction area. <br />A. The Contractor shall alert the Engineer if an obstruction is reached during drilling <br />such that the well cannot be completed as called for on the Construction Drawings. <br />The Engineer shall determine whether the borehole has reached a sufficient depth <br />for its intended function. If the borehole is not to the bottom of refuse, the Engineer <br />may direct the Contractor to abandon the hole by backfilling with clean soil, <br />compacted in two -foot lifts, up to four feet below grade. A bentonite seal, four <br />inches thick, will be placed in the borehole four feet from the surface and the <br />borehole shall be capped with compacted clean soil. The Engineer will advise the <br />Contractor about a location and depth of a replacement well borehole, if any. <br />B. Contractor is responsible for all equipment (i.e., drill bits, pipe, and tools) left in <br />abandoned boreholes. <br />3.04 WELL INSTALLATION <br />A. Install LFG extraction well in coordination with EHD inspector as per the <br />Construction Drawings and as specified here in. <br />B. The Contractor shall re -drill any borehole that caves in during well installation at no <br />additional cost to the County. <br />C. Place backfill materials in a controlled manner to avoid bridging or overfilling the <br />boring, or damaging the well pipe. <br />D.
