1 <br /> Nonconformance — A deficiency in characteristic, documentation, or procedure that renders the <br /> quality of an item or activity unacceptable or indeterminate. Examples of nonconfoimances <br /> include,but are not limited to,physical defects,test failures, and inadequate documentation. <br /> ICounty—San Joaquin County. Also referred to as the"County". <br /> Procedure—A document that specifies or describes how an activity is to be performed. <br /> ProJect Document — Any document, either required or incidental, prepared to further the final <br /> closure of the CHLF, including (but not limited to) Contractor submittals, construction drawings, <br /> record drawings, specifications, shop drawings, construction quality control and quality assurance <br /> plans, safety plan, and project schedule. <br /> Quality Assurance—A planned and systematic pattern of procedures and documentation designed <br /> to provide adequate confidence that materials or services meet contractual and regulatory <br /> requirements, and that these materials will perform satisfactorily in service. Quality assurance does <br /> not include quality control, and will be performed by the CQA Engineer, acting through the <br /> CQA Monitor when appropriate. <br /> 1 <br /> Quality Control — Those actions that provide a means of measuring and regulating the <br /> characteristics of a material or service to comply with the requirements of the construction <br /> documents. Quality control will be performed by the Contractor, manufacturers, suppliers, and <br /> subcontractors. <br /> Record Drawings — Drawings recording the constructed dimensions details, and coordinates of <br /> the project(also referred to as"as-builts"). <br /> Resident Engineer—The Director of Public Works, of the County acting either directly or through <br /> properly authorized agents, such agents acting within the scope of the particular duties delegated to <br /> them. <br /> Surveyor— The individual or firm hired by the contractor responsible for setting grade stakes and <br /> other survey markings to establish required elevations for constructing the project in accordance <br /> with the drawings and specifications. The surveyor may also perform Record Drawing (as-built) <br /> surveys for documenting mirnimurn thickness, grade, or other specified tolerances.
