ANNUAL SUMMARY
MONITORING
Groundwater
General:
Data from six groundwater monitoring wells drilled in Caltrans right-of-way beyond the County
property(three of which were made permanent) allowed the delineation of the area of
groundwater impact. This information was submitted to Regional Water Quality Control Board
staff in the Evaluation Monitoring Program Report—Phase 2 dated August 21, 2012.
SB-1 (Up-gradient):
All constituents were within the tolerance limits in 2012 with the exception of Bicarbonate
Alkalinity, which was exceeded in the 1St and 2nd quarters of 2012. There are decreasing trends
in the concentrations of Nitrate as Nitrogen, and Sulfate; and increasing trends in EC, and TDS
in well SB-1. No VOCs were reported in well SB-1 this year.
MW-4:
All constituents were within the tolerance limits in 2012 with the exception of Bicarbonate
Alkalinity, which was exceeded in the 1St and 2nd quarters of 2012. There are decreasing trends
in the concentrations of Sulfate and TDS. No VOCs were reported in well MW-4 this year.
MW-5:
Monitoring well MW-5 is a VOC impacted well. All general water quality constituents were
within the tolerance limits in 2012,except for Bicarbonate Alkalinity, which was exceeded in the
1St quarter 2012. The Bicarbonate Alkalinity exceedence could be interpreted as an influence of
LFG intrusion. The trend analysis indicates an increasing trend in TDS; and a decreasing trend
in Sulfate.
Trend analysis of VOC concentrations indicates increasing trends for three VOCs, decreasing
trends for four VOCs, and no trends for two VOCs. LFG is the source of the VOCs detected at
MW-5.
MW-6:
All constituents were within the tolerance limits in 2012. Trend analysis indicates a decreasing
trend in Chloride and an increasing trend in TDS.
® No VOCs were reported in well MW-6 this year.
Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill 17 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste
e Quarter and Annual 2012 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin—January 15,2013
