TABLE 23 ANTICIPATED SERVICEABILITY OF ALTERNATIVES CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL Alternative Description Score Remarks This alternative requires periodic inspection and repairs to maintain the effectiveness of the final cover. This work Final Cover would be an extension of the post-closure maintenance No. 1 Extension 9 work that is already performed at the site. Work could include period erosion repairs,weed abatement,and grading. Six new landfill gas wells are proposed to be constructed. Service work would include periodic adjustment to flow Enhanced Landfill control valves, blower,and flare system. Much of this work No. 2 Gas Extraction 7 is already conducted to service the existing landfill gas extraction system. Periodic re-leveling of lateral lines and condensate collection lines might also be required. . Regular inspections and adjustments to air-flow and vacuum will be required to make sure system is functioning correctly. Well vaults and pipelines may require periodic No.3 IAS/VES 3 repair owing to site access traffic. System valves may require periodic change-outs. System is prone to vandalism and incidental damage. While this approach does not involve installation of treatment systems or direct work on the aquifers, Intrinsic serviceability issues are expected to be associated with No.4 10 Remediation more frequent monitoring and reporting requirements and the need to periodically re-examine other remedial options. Groundwater All groundwater extraction and treatment alternatives will No.5 Extraction with Air 3 require routine inspection and maintenance of extraction Stripping pumps, conveyance pipelines,control panels,wiring, and storage tanks. Systems are prone to vandalism and incidental damage. Discharged water will be routed to the Groundwater stormwater retention basin. The treatment system for No. 6 Extraction with 1 Alternative 5 is a passive stripper that requires virtually no GAC Treatment maintenance once installed. The treatment system for Alternative 6 is a GAC unit that requires frequent inspection and periodic replacement of the treatment media.
