TABLE 23 <br /> ANTICIPATED SERVICEABILITY OF ALTERNATIVES <br /> CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL <br /> Alternative Description Score Remarks <br /> This alternative requires periodic inspection and repairs to <br /> maintain the effectiveness of the final cover. This work <br /> Final Cover would be an extension of the post-closure maintenance <br /> No. 1 Extension 9 work that is already performed at the site. Work could <br /> include period erosion repairs,weed abatement,and <br /> grading. <br /> Six new landfill gas wells are proposed to be constructed. <br /> Service work would include periodic adjustment to flow <br /> Enhanced Landfill control valves, blower,and flare system. Much of this work <br /> No. 2 Gas Extraction 7 is already conducted to service the existing landfill gas <br /> extraction system. Periodic re-leveling of lateral lines and <br /> condensate collection lines might also be required. . <br /> Regular inspections and adjustments to air-flow and vacuum <br /> will be required to make sure system is functioning <br /> correctly. Well vaults and pipelines may require periodic <br /> No.3 IAS/VES 3 repair owing to site access traffic. System valves may <br /> require periodic change-outs. System is prone to vandalism <br /> and incidental damage. <br /> While this approach does not involve installation of <br /> treatment systems or direct work on the aquifers, <br /> Intrinsic serviceability issues are expected to be associated with <br /> No.4 10 Remediation more frequent monitoring and reporting requirements and <br /> the need to periodically re-examine other remedial options. <br /> Groundwater All groundwater extraction and treatment alternatives will <br /> No.5 Extraction with Air 3 require routine inspection and maintenance of extraction <br /> Stripping pumps, conveyance pipelines,control panels,wiring, and <br /> storage tanks. Systems are prone to vandalism and <br /> incidental damage. Discharged water will be routed to the <br /> Groundwater stormwater retention basin. The treatment system for <br /> No. 6 Extraction with 1 Alternative 5 is a passive stripper that requires virtually no <br /> GAC Treatment maintenance once installed. The treatment system for <br /> Alternative 6 is a GAC unit that requires frequent inspection <br /> and periodic replacement of the treatment media. <br />
