3.08 PROTECTIVE WELL ENCLOSURE INSTALLATION <br />A. Install the protective well enclosure ("can") according to the spacing <br />specified in the design drawings. <br />B. Brace "can" plumb during concrete placement, until set. <br />C Inscribe the concrete base of the can with the designation of the well as <br />shown on the plans. Inscription shall be neat and professional in <br />appearance. <br />D. Install carriage bolt in wet concrete per the direction of the Engineer as <br />shown on the drawings. Carriage bolt shall be zinc or cadmium plated. <br />E. Once the concrete base of the protective well enclosure has hardened, pour <br />cement slurry inside the protective enclosure to the finish grade level of the <br />concrete base in the presence of the Engineer. When pouring cement <br />slurry inside the enclosure, protect probes from contact with cement slurry. <br />F. Drill a weep hole into the can at the finished cement slurry grade level <br />inside the can. <br />G. Fabricate enclosure cover per the design drawings. The enclosure lid shall <br />open and close smoothly. Any enclosure not installed per the construction <br />drawings and its cover not functional to the satisfaction of the Engineer will <br />be rejected. <br />3.09 BOLLARDS <br />A Install steel post bollards as shown on the drawings at specified well. <br />B Remove wet concrete from the outside surface of the bollard after overfilling <br />the steel pipe with cement. <br />3.10 LABELING <br />A. Label the well can with the well number using yellow or white paint, <br />indicating the well designation as shown on the Plans. Labeling shall be by <br />oil based paint with brush, in a neat and professional manner. <br />3.11 FINISHED GRADE RESTORATION <br />A. Restore areas disturbed by work to approximate conditions.
