WWI-
Page 3
K. No complaints have been received regarding the noise at
French Camp disposal site. The nearest residence is more than
one thousand feet from any working area, and the equipment used
on the site does not produce sound levels sufficient to carry
that distance. The contractor of the disposal site complies with
Cal-OSHA safety orders as regards the use of ear protection.
Item #2. Group III demolition wastes are accepted at the site.
The only other refuse received is garden refuse and leaves
collected by City crews. It is impossible to estimate the quantity
of demolition waste that is received. These volumes fluctuate
from year to year and from season to season and are determined
by the amount of construction in the general area and the amount
of concrete rubble used as riprap on Delta levees . In calendar
year 1976, 86,955 cubic yards of leaves and garden refuse were
processed at French Camp disposal site. This varies from 16 ,402
cubic yards in January to a low of 6 ,380 cubic yards in February.
The average five-day cubic yardage is 344. No liquid wastes are
accepted at the site. No infectious wastes , septic tank pumpings
or sewage sludge are received at the site , nor are dead animals
received there.
Item #3. The life expectancy of the French Camp disposal site
is difficult to determine. The loadings from Class III demolition
used for cover fluctuates such that any projections would be
conjecture. At the present loadings , it is expected that it will
require an additional twenty years to exhaust the site.
