CAC SECTION OBSERVATIONS RESULT
17677 Spreading and The perm—it amendment dated 2/01/86 C
Compacting. states compaction equipment is not
employed at this site. A low
compaction rate of 1200 lb/yd3 is to
be achieved by overburden deposition.
A compaction rate of 600 lb/yd3 is to
be achieved during spreading and
placement.
Note: The gardeners dumping area was
observed to have a 15-20 foot high lift
facing west, and a top area of 95 x 115
feet as measured by a rangefinder . The
City of Stockton dumping area had a 15
foot lift facing north and top area of
165 x 105 feet. The lifts had intact
filled plastic bags dispersed
throughout them. It it questionable
that a compaction rate of 600 lb/yd 3
is being reached because many of the
bags were unbroken. (See slides I .1 -
I.13) .
17678 Slopes and The slopes of the two working faces C
Cuts. were less than five degrees (11 . 5:1.00
horizontal ratio) as measured with a
clinometer, and would allow effective
compaction.
17679 fir'—nal Site No area was identified as a final site C
Face. face by John Giambastiani, the Site
Supervisor, the day of this
inspection.
17680 Stockpiling. A stockpile was not maintained at this N
facility.
7-
17681 Availability of The availability of cover material-is—
Cover . dependent upon haulers bringing
material to the site. An adequate
supply of cover material could not be
substantiated through the course of
this inspection. Future inspectors
should verify the continued
availability of imported cover.
A
Page No. 5 of 10 Inspector U00 at-k
