The existing side slopes of the landfill adjacent to French <br />Camp and Walker Sloughs are steeper than 3:1 (horizontal to <br />vertical) and in some places appear to be steeper than 1 3/4 <br />to 1. Pursuant to Title 14 California Cade of Regulations <br />(CCR), -Division 7, Chapter 3, Article 7.8, Section 17777, <br />the final site face of a solid waste disposal site shall not <br />bae steeper than 1 3/4 to I and a slope stability report must <br />be developed and submitted to reviewing agencies if the, <br />-final site face is steeper than 3 to I or if the slopes or <br />foundation of the site is located on unstable earth units. <br />Due to the age of the landfill and the lack of available <br />information regarding the stability and placement of the <br />fill, a s'-'Dpe stability study is required to be conducted. <br />The timing ofrf the execution of the slope stability study <br />shc?'41d precede the design of the perimeter road/drainage <br />-manent 'andfill gas monitoring wet ls were not observed. <br />Mtir. Iol,igh the site is surrounded by water on three sides, <br />J' -L I <br />landfill gas monitoring is still required to ensure that <br />public health and -safety is not impacted by landfill gas <br />migrating into the scale house, into the slo-ughs(degrading <br />ground and/or surface water), or underneath and beyond <br />Tnterstate 5. <br />3. Ground water Vol-titorinq well no. 8 grout seal with adj;icent <br />soil was cracked at the surface. The depth and -significance <br />of this crack!'.Was not determined in the field.
