3.0 SOLID WASTE MONITORING During the fourth quarter 2007 the French Camp Landfill did not receive waste and the site has been formally closed. (Appendix A). I4.0 WATER QUALITY MONITORING 4.1 SAMPLING AND LABORATORY ANALYSES All of the groundwater monitoring wells and surface water monitoring points were sampled on November 20, 2007. Stream gauging was also performed on November 20, 2007. Prior to collection of samples, depth-to-water measurements were recorded for all groundwater monitoring wells. Soil-pore gas probes were sampled on November 21, 2007. A single sample set was collected from each sampling point(groundwater, leachate, and surface water) and analyzed for the parameters stipulated in RWQCB Order No. R5- 2007-0046, and summarized in Table 1. Water quality samples were also analyzed in the field for dissolved oxygen, turbidity, temperature, specific conductance, and pH and the field measurements were recorded on well data sheets. The groundwater monitoring wells and surface water monitoring points were sampled in accordance with the sampling and analysis procedures detailed in Appendix B. Well data sheets, raw laboratory data, certificates of analyses, and chain-of-custody records for the sampling program are included in Appendix C. The laboratory analyses and field results for groundwater wells, surface water sampling stations, and soil-pore gas sampling stations are summarized in Tables 2 through 6. 4.2 QA/QC RESULTS The QA/QC program completed for the fourth quarter 2007 waterualit monitoring q Y g event included analyses of one duplicate sample, one field (ambient)blank, one trip blank, and one laboratory method blank. The trip, field, equipment, and laboratory method blanks were analyzed for volatile organic compounds (VOCs)by EPA Method 8260. A quantifiable concentration of acetone and a trace concentration of toluene were detected in the QA/QC ambient blank sample during the fourth quarter 2007 monitoring period. However, neither of these VOCs were detected in the primary samples collected from the French Camp Landfill during the fourth quarter 2007 monitoring period. A duplicate sample was collected from well MW-2 and was labeled MW-Dup. Duplicate groundwater test results are presented along with the primary data in Table 3. Comparison of the primary sample with the duplicate sample indicates good agreement (within 5%) for the water quality constituents. l -- D:\2003_021\FC_4Q07.doc I2 Geologic Associates
