No information regarding repairs were noted in the monitoring report. The repairs
are to be completed before the next wet season. Please inform the Board in writing when the repairs are
completed.
As noted in our Third and Fourth Quarter 2000 and First Quarter 2001 review letters, the increasing trend of
chloride in monitoring well MW-2 warrants observation. The county has statistically updated concentration limits
for this well every quarter, however the concentration detected, 17.2 mg/l, is still beneath the concentration noted
in the Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 96-139. An intrawell tolerance limit update was not completed
during this quarter due to the increasing trend.
Hexavalent chromium was detected in MW-3 and MW-4 during this monitoring event. The
concentrations were very low and the County will continue to monitor the situation. 1,2 Dichlorobenzene
was detected in upgradient well MW-1. Since 2 or more VOCs must be detected above the MDL and
below the PQL to warrant a re-test, the County did not perform one.
I have attached a copy of Monitoring Report Compliance Checklist that will be included in the case file. If you
have any questions or comments regarding the review, please call me at(916) 255-3126.
VICTOR J. 0 0
Senior Engin ering Geologist
cc.: Robert McClellon,REHS,Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division
California Environmental Protection Agency
Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/rwqcb5
