Purging: Is there a description X Dedicated purge and sample
of the purging method,purge pumps.
pump and its placement, and
field parameters?
Additional Comments and Recommendations:
County did not complete the repairs as need to the top deck of the landfill. Their letter of 22 June indicates
that repairs will be completed by the end of August 2000.
Annual sampling in 1999 indicated the presence of hexavalent chromium in all wells, however the
downgradient well, MW-4 had the highest concentration. Our letter of 25 May requested a retest of these
wells with results reported to the Regional Board by 15 July. The county elected not to retest based on
similar detects at North County and Foothill (their letter dated 22 June).
Higher pH in upgradient well noted.
No VOCs detected in any well. Chloride in monitoring well MW-2 still increasing trend (17.7 mg/1),though
within drinking water standards. Groundwater flow direction has shifted from southerly to SSE, so MW-2 is
side-gradient to downgradient.
RWQCB Staff Signature:
Date: 4 August 2000
