As noted above, <br /> this well is now owned by' San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> The locations of these wells are shown on Plate A. <br /> Available information on the wells indicates that the Sawyer well <br /> is approximately 243 feet deep, and is cased down to 150 feet; <br /> the Labor Camp well is approximately 320 feet deep, and is cased <br /> down to 164 feet; the Hall well is approximately 233 feet deep, <br /> and is cased to 180 feet. Water levels in the wells have been in <br /> the range of -15 to -36 feet (from mean sea level) . Plate H <br /> shows the approximate ground water surface elevations in August <br /> Of 1985. <br /> MONITORING OBJECTIVES <br /> groundThe itiobjectives at the Harney Lane <br /> Landfill are to comply with the Subchapter 15 and Regional Water <br /> Quality Control board (RWQCB) requirements, and to provide a long <br /> term ground water monitoring program. The <br /> monitoring planground water <br /> presented in this report is designed to meet <br /> these objectives. <br /> Subchapter 15 contains specific instructions for monitoring <br /> well construction. The existing four wells previously used for <br /> monitoring since 1980 do not comply with the current RWQCB <br /> requirements. For one reason, well logs indicate solid casing <br /> was used to 50 to 80 feet below the ground water table. It also <br /> appears that slotted or screened casing may not have been used. <br /> Current regulations require that slotted casing span the first <br /> ground water table. The dual function of domestic wells has also <br /> been discouraged by the State. <br /> LOCATION AND INSTALLATION OF MONITORING FACILITIES <br /> Plate A shows the preliminary locations selected for four <br /> monitoring points. These locations and number of monitoring <br /> locations were selected based on regional hydrogeologic <br /> information and data collected from the four wells currently <br /> being monitored. The proposed locations of the wells are <br /> preliminary and may change if additional field information does <br /> not coincide with previous information. <br />
