Unless the conditions encountered are
vastly different . than theavailable - information
indicates a e2' or s3 sand backfill will -be used.
C. Bentonite
Bentonite pellets shall be used to form a 2-toot seal
in the annular space after placement of sand filter and
prior to placing the surface seal. Water will be added
to the pellets after placement.
Ds Grog
A cement grout will be used to backfill the remaining
annulus section to the surface. Grout shall be tremae
to prevent bridging In the annulus.
LL DEVELOPMENT
Well development shall be done by pumping, air lifting, or
other suitable methods until the water produced is clear and free
of appreciable fines.
MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Four ground water monitoring wells approximately 175 feet
will be installed at the locations shown on Plate A. A typical
monitoring well installation is shown on Plate C. Wells will be
screened 5-10 feet above and 20-40 feet below the first
encountered ground water unless the first ground water zone is a
confined zone. It a confined or semi-confined situation is
encountered, the well shall be completed in the first impermeable
zone. Otherwise, the well shall be screened to a depth 30-40
feet below the water table, if no impermeable zone is
encountered. There will an experienced, knowledgeable
professional (geologist or engineer) present on-site to make
these decisions during the well installation, and the
installation of the wells shall be performed under the direct
supervision of a Registered Geologist, as required by Subchapter
15. The northern-most and southern-most wells will be drilled
first before drilling the east and west wells. -To ensure that
accurate ground water elevations are determined as ground water
is encountered, proposed well locations will be surveyed before
drilling begins, and a marker should be established near each
well site. Whichever well (or wells) on the site becomes the up-
