2.05 NEAT CEMENT SEAL <br /> The neat cement seal shall consist of a mixture of Portland cement with not <br /> more than seven gallons of clean water per 94-pound sack (one cubic foot) <br /> of cement. <br /> 2.06 CONCRETE PAD <br /> The concrete pad shall consist of Portland cement concrete in the <br /> proportion of at least five sacks of cement per cubic yard of concrete, with <br /> no more than seven gallons of water per sack of cement. <br /> 2.07 MONITORING WELL PLUG <br /> Monitoring well plug shall be end-of-pipe style plugs with rubber O-ring. <br /> The plug provides a seal by squeezing the O-ring between two plastic <br /> plates, forcing the O-ring against the inside of the pipe. <br /> Monitoring well plug shall be Cherne Gripper Plug from USA Bluebook, or <br /> equivalent. <br /> 2.08 WELL ENCLOSURE <br /> The well enclosure shall be a minimum size of 8"x 8" square, made of <br /> galvanized steel and shall have a lockable cover. The cover shall open <br /> and close smoothly. The well enclosure shall be painted with etching <br /> primer first and then painted with two coats of YELLOW rust inhibitive <br /> paint. The well enclosure shall be labeled based on the well number. The <br /> labeling shall be with red paint and shall be four inches in height. <br /> 2.09 CENTRALIZERS <br /> Centralizers shall be composed of plastic and stainless steel. Galvanized <br /> steel or black iron shall not be used. <br /> 2.10 ABANDONED BORINGS <br /> If an obstruction or other condition is encountered that prevents the <br /> installation of a well at the location identified, the Engineer may request <br /> that the Contractor abandon the boring.
